Home Source introduces homeowners to contractors, and that introduction involves transferring your information in exchange for payment. Under California and several other state privacy laws, that is a sale. You can tell us to stop, and this page is how.
Email privacy@theonlyhomesource.com with "Opt out of sale" in the subject line, and include the phone number, email address, or service address you used with us so we can find your record. That is everything we need. No account, no reason, no fee.
1.Turn On Global Privacy Control
If you would rather not send an email, you can opt out automatically. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) — a signal your browser sends on your behalf — as a valid opt-out of sale and sharing, for every visitor, in every state, regardless of whether your state requires it.
GPC is built into some browsers and available as a free extension for others. Once it is on, our site recognizes it on every visit with no further action from you. Details at globalprivacycontrol.org.
One limitation worth knowing: GPC is tied to a browser on a device, not to you as a person. It cannot reach information you already submitted through a form, and it does not carry over to your phone if you set it on your laptop. For a complete opt-out across everything we hold about you, email us.
2.What Opting Out Does
- We stop transferring your information to the Blitz marketplace and to contractors.
- We stop sharing your information with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising, including through the Meta Pixel.
- We keep enough information to remember that you opted out — deleting that record would undo your own request.
An opt-out stops future sales and sharing. If you already approved an estimate and a contractor has acquired your appointment, that transfer has happened and we cannot reverse it. We will notify the contractor of your request and stop any further transfer. If you also want that contractor to stop contacting you, tell the contractor directly — and tell us, so we can pass it along.
Opting out of sale is not the same as opting out of calls and texts. To stop those, reply STOP to any message or email optout@theonlyhomesource.com.
3.How Long It Takes
We act on opt-out requests as soon as practicable and within 15 business days at the outside. GPC signals are honored immediately and automatically. We will confirm by email when we have processed your request.
We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a lesser experience because you opted out. There is no penalty for asking, and you can use Home Source again later if you want to.
4.Authorized Agents
Someone may submit this request for you if you give them written permission signed by you. Send the request and the permission to the privacy address below. We may contact you to confirm that you authorized it. A GPC signal is accepted without any verification.
5.Your Other Rights
Opting out of sale is one of several rights you have. You can also request access to what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and appeal if we say no. Section 11 of our Privacy Policy explains each one and how to use it.
